For the first time I get involved with the community

September 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Besides standing up behind certain bills and laws in Hawaii and aside from the “Legalizing same sex marriage” I haven’t really helped in the community. This does not include volunteering at hospitals. The last time I actually was “out” in the community was when I was doing community service while on probation so for me to actually take a stand and willingly get out there is really a plus in my life.Because I am not doing it just for myself. Not because GOD told me to as He didn’t tell me to but I made the choice on my own and I feel at ease and peace with it that I should stand for this cause of saving lives of unborn children. If you want to read up on why I am helping with this cause “40 days of life” on this site search these words:abortion, allyssasandrah & shizuko akamine-thomas,loreen akamine, romaine thomas. You will find out why.Like I said before I got nothing to hide from the world. If anyone wants to know anything type in my name and you will find out what you need to know.

40 days of life!

September 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Go to 40daysoflife.com and find your location in your state.Volunteer and help lift up your voices and prayers to help save many babies’ lives and help them have a chance to live. You know I dealt with abortion and that’s the worst thing any mother can do.To this day I am still very guilty for doing so and I hope to make a difference that more mothers will choose life and if they don’t want their child to put it up for adoption where they can find loving families to care for these babies.

Looking to complete the Advance HealthCare Directive & start figuring out my next step in life

September 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

By the end of next month(October)I am going to have my adhd figured out complete down to the doctors that I am currently researching to be sure that I have got the best quality care of physicians.I have got confirmation from God that He does want me to open up the business for the celebrities, homeless(Hope & Faith Homeless Organization Inc),disabled(Disabled Libraries),real estate(Shiira Real Estate Inc),and placements for the psychiatric hospitals etc.I asked God to give me a sign using a toothpick3- 5 times and place the pencil North to the cup that was on the dining room table.4 out of 5 times it faced North. So,what’s going on with me?I will be going to a life group every Tuesday from this coming Tuesday, figuring out the doctors for the ADHD then inquiring at Ruth Woodhall Talent Agency to see if I get any jobs. From there I don’t have any other plans yet.

My mom’s mom is not doing too good. Not sure of all the details but I do know that she is falling a lot more, hitting her head more, goes to the emergency a lot more and does get more confused a lot.I haven’t seen since about July.I don’t really keep in touch or ask about the Kobayashi side. One of the main reasons I changed my name.As far as I am concerned I have no grandparents alive. They have deceased.Ellen also has an aide with her 24/7 as well as that life alarm that calls in case of emergency.

Will Obama support Muslim Prayer?Help us take action now!

Will President Obama support an anti-Semitic, anti-American Islamic day of prayer?
Urge the president to refuse to issue any statements or proclamations in support of this Muslim day of prayer
The Islamic community hopes to have 50,000 Muslims surrounding the U.S. Capitol for Jummah prayer this Friday, September 25.

While all people are of course free in America to pray according to the dictates of their own conscience, a look at the leaders of this prayer event raises serious questions about whether this event is good for America.

The main organizer of the event, Hassen Ibn Abdellah, was, according to the New York Times, the “most aggressively combative of the lawyers” representing the terrorists who staged the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. His client was convicted of manufacturing and transporting the bomb and is now in the “Supermax” prison at Florence, Colorado.

In 2004, he tried to get Numan Maflahi off the hook. Maflahi is a New Jersey Muslim who was sentenced to five years in prison for his part in terrorism financing schemes centered in Brooklyn.

In 2007, Abdellah came to the defense of Mahmud Faruq Brent, a Baltimore cabdriver who pled guilty to attending a jihad terrorist training camp in Pakistan, and who, under Abdellah’s instructions, refused to cooperate with authorities or testify against other defendants.

The imam who will lead the recitation of the Koran, Sheikh Ahmed Dewidar, is a Manhattan cleric who once said that “through the domination of Islam and its ideas, the White House will change,” and spoke approvingly of another cleric who said that one day “the White House will become…the Muslim House.”

He has also claimed that Zionists “control the government, the politics, the economy, and the media in the U.S.”

In other words, this Islamic prayer event is being led by men who harbor both anti-Semitic and fundamentally anti-America views.

President Barack Obama has barely acknowledged the Christian heritage of the United States, refusing to participate in the National Day of Prayer and issuing only a perfunctory proclamation which he was required to do by law. Yet he has hosted a dinner celebrating what he called “the Holy Month of Ramadan” in the White House, and recently issued a proclamation at the end of Ramadan which concluded with an Arabic blessing.

Take Action

Given the radical views of the organizers, I urge you enter your ZIP Code (above or below) to send an e-mail to President Obama urging him to refuse to issue any statements or proclamations in support of this Muslim day of prayer.

It is very important that you forward this alert to your friends and family members.

Thank you for caring enough to get involved. If you find our efforts worth supporting, would you consider making a small tax-deductible donation to help us continue?

Sincerely,

Tim Wildmon, President
American Family Association

I also sent a letter to Obama about this through the AFA site. The site is also listed under Blogroll. It is the very first link.

Obesity, alcohol, depression interlinked for women

September 25, 2009 · 2 Comments

Alcohol abuse, obesity and depression seem to go hand in hand for many women, according to the first study to look at how the three relate to one another over time in young adults.

Dr. Carolyn A. McCarty of Seattle Children’s Research Institute and her colleagues also found that almost half of the men and women in their study suffered from at least one of these problems between the ages of 21 and 30.

“That’s big,” McCarty told Reuters Health, and is likely only “the tip of the iceberg,” because she and her colleagues used fairly stringent definitions of alcohol abuse, depression and obesity in their study.

The young men and women in the current study have been followed since 1985, when they were in fifth grade. McCarty and her team looked at data from interviews conducted when the study participants were 24, 27 and 30 years old to understand the interrelationships among depression, obesity and alcohol use disorders.

At age 21, 8 percent of women and 12 percent of men had at least two of the three problems. Over time, having more than one of the problems became more common for women, but less so for men.

For men, the only association the researchers saw was for obese 27-year-olds, who were less likely to be depressed at age 30. But women who were depressed at 27 were more than three times as likely to meet criteria for alcohol abuse or dependence at age 30.

Women who had alcohol use problems at 24 were nearly four times as likely to be obese at 27, while being obese at age 27 more than doubled the risk of depression at 30.

And lower-income individuals of both sexes were at greater risk of depression and obesity.

A tendency to “ruminative coping”-in which a person replays and obsesses about negative events-may be one of the traits that links alcohol abuse, obesity and depression, McCarty noted in an interview.

Dr. Susan Nolen-Hoeksma, a psychologist at Yale, has referred to the three as a “toxic triangle” of “eating, drinking and overthinking,” the researcher added, and has shown that women-and men-who ruminate are more depressed and more likely to drink or to binge eat to cope with emotional problems.

There are interventions that target all three legs of this toxic triangle, McCarty said, including physical exercise, mindfulness training, and stress management. Strategies for treating depression, alcohol use problems, and obesity-all of which are characterized by problems with the brain’s “reward system”–also need to help people find alternatives to rewarding themselves with food or alcohol, she added.

“We have to think about how people can start to build in naturally rewarding experiences in their lives,” she said.
